Ruth M. Croissant, 89, of Greeley passed away on November 3, 2009 at the North Colorado Medical Center Hospice Inpatient Unit. She was born October 28, 1920 in Pierce, CO to Fredrick G. and Mary A. (Ward) Lockridge. Ruth attended high school in Pierce and then the Bible Baptist Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. She married Harold Croissant on August 13, 1939 in LaSalle, CO and he died on November 3, 1994. They lived in Hardin from 1939 to 1945 after they were married, moving to Texas for five years and then back to Greeley in 1950. Ruth was an agent for Franks & Scott Co., a real estate insurance company. She was also a member of the Insurance Women of Greeley and attended Greeley Wesleyan Church. She also enjoyed traveling and taking cruises to over 100 different countries, played the organ and piano, liked to garden and loved animals. Survivors include her son, Harold J. Croissant and wife Mary Alice of Highlands Ranch, CO, daughter, Karen R. Woods and husband Don Ziegler of Greeley, granddaughter, Michelle Croissant Harrill and husband Jason of Chandler, AZ, grandson, Shawn L. Croissant and wife Leanna of Parker, great-grandchildren, Gillian Harrill, Chloe and Cade Croissant. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and four sisters, Vera, Freida, Ava and Lila. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the Allnutt Macy Chapel. A service will follow at 1 p.m. at the chapel. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Weld County Humane Society in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 702 13th St., Greeley, CO 80631.
