Ruth Davidson Obituary

Ruth was born on February 8, 1946, in Poughkeepsie, the daughter of the late William R. Wagler and the late Irene M. Csizmar.
She was a graduate of Spackenkill and Poughkeepsie Schools, and later earned a degree from Dutchess Community College.
On June 26, 1993, Ruth married Carl L. Davidson in Poughkeepsie. He survives at home.
Ruth worked in accounting at IBM World Trade, retiring in 1993. A lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie, she was an associate member of the Croft Corners Fire Department and a past president of the Croft Corners Ladies Auxiliary.
Ruth had a deep love for basset hounds and cherished their company throughout her life.
In addition to her husband Carl, Ruth is survived by her children: Scott Davidson and his wife Colleen of Pleasant Valley, and Kristine Renza of Poughkeepsie; her grandchildren: Joshua, Emily, Kassandra, Jonathan, and Ewan; and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Greg, Shari, and Jen; her sister-in-law Ann Wagler; and her great-nephews Greg Jr. and Nicholas.
She was predeceased by her brothers, William R. Wagler Jr. and Robert Wagler.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with a service to follow at 11:00 AM at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.
Burial will take place at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery in Poughkeepsie, New York.

I remember Ruth as being kind always with a smile. She gave to her community and was committed to family, work, and the things she did in life. My condolences to Carl her husband and the rest of her family and friends.

Wishing peace and fond memories to Carl, the Waglers, and all family members. I always think of my cousin, Ruth, with a smiling face, warm and lots of fun. We had lots of family picnics and other get-togethers with her sweet presence. Peace to her precious soul.

I have known Ruth since she was a teenager and babysat my children. We remained in touch throughout the years. She was a caring and loving person. Great neighbor. Our family very fond of her. I always enjoyed my visits with her when retuning to area.
