Ruth Irene DeStasio

Ruth I. DeStasio, 95, formerly of Muhlenberg Township, passed away, Friday, February 16, 2024, in the care of Willow Brook Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. She was the widow of Michael DeStasio Sr., who passed away May 27, 2019.
Born in Reading to the late Clair and Anna (Kissinger) Bricker, Ruth graduated from Muhlenberg High School in 1946. Ruth worked in the textile industry as a young woman before dedicating herself to raising her family. In her later years, she enjoyed music, playing the lottery, sewing, and making crafts.
Left to treasure Ruth's memory are her children; Cheryl, wife of Dennis Bingaman, Hamburg, and Michael, Jr., widower of Susan DeStasio, Leesport; five grandchildren: Jennifer Witman, Timothy Antosy, Jr., Beth Battersby, Krista Herman, and Timothy Madeira; and 14 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Ruth was predeceased by her brother, Gary Bricker, and her sisters, Greta Clemens, Marian Royer, Doris Fix, and June Dobson.
A memorial service for Ruth will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, 40 S 4th Street, Hamburg PA 19526. Friends and family may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the start of services. She will be laid to rest privately at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with her husband, Michael.
