Ruth A Dommer (Peszko, nee Balog), age 84 years, residing at Hope, Health, and Rehab in Lomira, WI was called home to be with the Lord in the early morning hours of February 26, 2026 after a longtime battle with Parkinson’s. Ruth was born on June 29, 1941 to Nicholas and Mildred Balog.
After graduating from Washington High School in Milwaukee, WI., Ruth started a family. She had 4 children, John (Laura) Peszko, Cindy (Fred) Hron, Jackie Wisler (Dave) and Sue (Dave) Godersky. On 05/17/1980, she remarried to the true love of her life, Glenn Dommer, and gained two bonus daughters, Denise (Dan) Hofmeister and Kim (Phil) Apfelbeck.
Ruth’s career path included many years and experience in jewelry retail. She was proud to have assisted in opening numerous Wal-Mart locations. Ruth was also an avid fisherwomen and became part of an elite group of women, being captain of the Double D charter boat on Lake Michigan.
Outside of work, Ruth enjoyed outdoor activities, the casino, playing bingo, watching sports and spending time with family and friends.
Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory includes her husband, Glenn, daughters Cindy (Fred), Jackie (Dave), Sue (Dave), Daughter-In-Law Laura, and bonus daughters, Denise (Dan) and Kim. Ruth is further survived by grandchildren, Michael Gries, Amanda Gries, Jonathan Peszko, Nicholas Godersky, Marcus Hofmeister, Jared Apfelbeck, and Cody Apfelbeck, numerous great grandchildren, as well as other family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her in-laws, Arthur and Audrey, son John, son-in-law Phil, sibling Carl, and numerous family and friends.
At this time there is no visitation/service scheduled as part of Ruth’s final wishes.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Hope, Health, and Rehab, and St. Croix Hospice for their care and compassion.
