Known for her fire baton twirling, Ruth was the life of the party. She was a fiercely loyal and caring mother, grandmother and friend. Her passions throughout her life included traveling, golf, cheering on the Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs. Born to Cleo & Bob Crouse who opened Crouse Cafe shortly before Ruth was born - she grew up in the restaurant - working there throughout various points in her life. She graduated from Indianola High School in 1968. After graduating, she became a hairdresser then took on administrative roles before finding her calling helping as a victim advocate while working for the Warren County Attorney's office where she helped hundreds of victims through some of the darkest points in their lives.
