Celebrating the Beautiful Life of Ruth Ann Esseltine
January 19th, 1943 – April 14th, 2025
We celebrate the vibrant life of Ruth Ann Esseltine, a woman of strength, wit, and a wonderful sense of humor, who passed away on April 14th, 2025, in Nashville, TN.
Born on January 19th, 1943, in Bay City, MI, Ruth Ann's life was filled with music, family, and joy. A lifelong musician proficient in piano and woodwind instruments, she shared her love of music with everyone around her. Ruth Ann taught several generations of young people to play the piano. She was a committed believer in Jesus Christ who was active at The Donelson Fellowship (TDF) church.
Graduating from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor's degree in 1965, Ruth Ann was an avid reader and a great proofreader, appreciating the power of words and the stories they told. Her passion for knowledge continued throughout her life.
A connoisseur of Sun Drop, Ruth Ann enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. Her kitchen was often filled with the delightful aroma of freshly baked sugar cookies, a sweet treat she lovingly prepared for her grandchildren.
Ruth Ann was the beloved wife of the late Donald Esseltine and the cherished mother of Jeffrey Boese and Jonathan (Luanne) Boese. Her loving legacy continues through her grandsons: Barrett, Benjamin, and Caleb Boese, and granddaughter: Corrie Boese. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Jonathan Isaac Boese.
The daughter of Walter and Mardy Schank, both deceased, and dear sister of Fran Card, Ruth Ann's family was the center of her world. Her love for them was evident in every aspect of her life.
Her witty humor, strength, and warm personality left a mark on the hearts of those who knew her. As we remember Ruth Ann, we celebrate the joyful memories she created and the beautiful music she brought into our lives.
