Ruth Gibbs Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sisco Funeral Chapel - Springdale on Dec. 30, 2025.
Ruth Anne Reeves Gibbs, born August 13, 1941, in Michigan, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, on December 27, 2025. Anne attended Michigan State University, where she met the love of her life, James (Jim) Henry Gibbs. They married in 1961 and shared 52 wonderful years together until Jim's passing in 2014. Throughout their life together, they called many places home-Michigan, Ohio, Missouri, Minnesota, Kansas, and eventually returned to Michigan before retiring in Arkansas, where they spent their remaining years.

Anne was known for her love of entertaining. Anne's talent for hosting was unmatched; she never missed a detail and always added a personal touch that made everyone feel welcome. She delighted in hosting friends and family and dedicated much of her time to volunteer work, touching countless lives with her kindness and grace. She enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life. A gifted artist, Anne expressed her creativity through painting and design. She also loved golf and proudly achieved a hole-in-one and even spent time mastering the art of fly tying.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jim, and son-in-law, Richard Schwabenlander. Anne leaves behind her daughter, Tracey Rhea Gibbs; her son and daughter-in-law, James Christopher (Chris) and Tami Gibbs; and her grandchildren, Jackson (Jack) Rhea Schwabenlander, Katherine (Katie) Grace Gibbs, and James Henry (Hank) Gibbs II.

The family will celebrate Anne's life privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Washington Regional Hospice.

She will be deeply missed.
