Ruth A. (Friend) McCormick of South Burlington Vermont passed away at Birchwood Terrace on February 10th, 2022 after a long illness. She was Born November 19, 1941 in Burlington Vermont, the daughter of Barbara (Howard) Davison and Monroe W. Friend.

Ruth was predeceased by her husband of 56 years Kenneth R. McCormick and her brother Dennis Friend. She is survived by her Children Kristy (McCormick) Clark and her husband Patrick Clark, Holly McCormick and Shannon McCormick; Her sister Sandra (Friend) Nagle and brother Howard "Buddy" Davison; her grand-children Kasie Clark, Katie Clark, Dakotah McCormick, Jessica Tetreault and Alexis McCormick; Her great-grand Children Aliza Emmons, Kiland Emmons and Ruger Ryan.

Ruth spent most of her life working in finance and accounting. She was dedicated to her employers and co-workers. She viewed them as family. She at times worked long hours. Her work was very important to her, and she took great pride in all that she did.

Ruth's main love in life was her family. She adored her husband, her children and her grandchildren. Her sister and Brothers meant the world to her. All family, close and far was what she believed to be the root to life. She loved having a close-knit family. She viewed children as a gift from God and treated them as such. She was the matriarch of the family, and she was the glue that kept it all together.

Ruth was extremely creative and had many talents from making intricate Halloween costumes and clothing to dolls, ceramics, stained glass and all other crafts imaginable. She could see anything once and recreate it. She was well known for her beautiful doll lamps and her money trees she made for graduations.

She had a green thumb that could rival the best. She had a home full of plants and cultivated gardens in her yard. She even had a big banana tree that was featured in magazines. There wasn't a thing that she couldn't grow.

Ruth was a kind, loving and gentle soul who loved everyone. There wasn't anything she couldn't do. She was an eternal optimist with a "glass is half full" outlook on life. She believed that there was a silver lining to everything. She always looked at the good in people even if others couldn't see it. She never raised her voice or had a mean thing to say about anyone. If she saw someone in need, she would help in any way she could, even if she didn't know them.

There will not be any services held at this time, but a celebration of life to be observed at a later date.

Where do I begin? Ruthie was an amazing woman. Soft spoken, kind, giving and simply a wonderful person. Worked with her at Yankee Electric back in the day. She was gifted in many ways. I still have a lovely sweater she knit me so many years ago. Rest In Peace Ruthie. Heaven just got an angel. Thinking of the family at this difficult time.

I had the extreme pleasure of knowing and working with Ruth in 1977 at Twin State Electric. Ruth was everything + as so well written. Always giving, complimenting with pure gumption!
God Blessed Ruthie -
