Ruth Meredith Obituary

Ruth Janèt Meredith, 97, of Bellefontaine, was welcomed into her Lord’s loving embrace on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Logan Acres Care Center, Bellefontaine, where she was surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio on August 7, 1926, the daughter of the late Newton S. and Ruth May (Wagner) Kindell.
On March 7, 1946, she married Fredrick J. Meredith in Bellefontaine, Ohio and he survives.

She is also survived by two daughters, Cathy Wallace and Theda (Mike) Moore, four grandchildren, Nick (Angie) Wallace, Brandon (Bethany) Moore, Darick (Paige) Moore, and Matthew (Brandee) Moore, 10 great-grandchildren, Allie, Nate, Laney, Cooper, Emma, Hudson, Harper, Luci, Oliver, and Theo, a sister-in-law, Betty Peters Kindell, honorary family member, Rick Ramsey, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kay Ann Meredith, a sister and brother-in-law, Theda (Ed) Bauer, two brothers, Eddie and Walter Kindell, one son-in-law, Ed Wallace, two sisters-in-law, Florence Kindell Hacker and Daisy Kindell, and honorary family member, Kathy Ramsey.

Ruth joined the working world during her senior year of high school at the A. J. Miller Company.  After working there for 12 years, she started her most precious job of raising her family and caring for her mother and mother-in-law.  She then decided to return to the business world and was hired at Barton Oldsmobile and Cadillac.  She then went to work for Patrons Mutual Insurance Company as an assistant secretary/treasurer for 14 years when she retired.  During retirement, she then started caring for her loving grandchildren.

Ruth was a member of the First Christian Church, Bellefontaine, where she taught many Sunday School classes.  She served as a Deacon and was later awarded deacon emeritus.  The CWF was a very important group for her.  So much so that she served as secretary of this group for several years.

Ruth’s faith was demonstrated through the life she lived.  People were often touched by her kindness and her gentle caring nature.  Even toward the end of her life on this earth she still had a kind word or an, I love you to give.  She will be sorely missed by those who loved and knew her.

Rev. Kevin C. Greenwald along with Ruth’s grandson, Nick Wallace will officiate a memorial service on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. in the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311. Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. Burial will be in Bellefontaine Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105, First Christian Church, 215 E. Sandusky Ave., Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311, or to Five P Minus Society at https://fivepminus.org/donate
