Ruth L. (Follweiler) Palmisano, 97, of Schnecksville, PA, formerly of Allentown, PA, passed away on December 1, 2024 surrounded by family at St. Luke's Hospital Allentown. Born in Allentown on September 6, 1927, she was a daughter of the late William J. Follweiler, Sr. and the late Bessie B. (Danner) Follweiler. Ruth was a true Christian living her faith in daily life. She especially enjoyed reading the dictionary and teaching her grandchildren new words. She loved art and color, music of all kinds, especially opera. She sang in the choir at St. John's Lutheran Church. Ruth was a 1945 graduate of Allentown High School. She worked as a support partner in Lehigh Valley Hospital at the 17th and Chew Sts. and Muhlenberg sites. Prior to that, she worked at Muhlenberg College and Bell Telephone.
Survivors: Son: Joseph Egan and his wife Christine Jenny of Zurich, Switzerland, Daughters: Kathleen wife of Daniel White of Schnecksville, Elizabeth L. Egan of Breinigsville and Acey Lee of Emmaus, Barbara A. wife of Albert Antanavage of Alburtis, Grandchildren: Gregory White and his wife Ashley, Douglas White and his wife Melissa, Caitlin wife of Neil Tichelaar, Lindsey Lee and her fiancée Robert Smale, Evan Antanavage and his wife Meredith and James Antanavage, and Great-Grandchildren: Egan White, Brady White, Georgia White, Charlotte Antanavage and August White. Ruth was predeceased by her nine Follweiler siblings, 4 brothers and 5 sisters, and their spouses.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 10:30 AM in the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home 16th and Hamilton Sts. Allentown. A calling hour will be held on Friday from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be at Arlington Memorial Park, Whitehall, PA.
