Ruth Ann Perry, 79, of Murrysville, PA, formerly a longtime resident of the Shenango Valley, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2026, in UPMC East Hospital, Monroeville, PA, following a brief illness.
Mrs. Perry was born on April 3, 1946, the daughter of James E. and Dorothy L. (Shotts) Lohr. A graduate of Sharon High School class of 1964, Ruth then went on to graduate from Sharon Regional School of Nursing. She devoted herself to caring for others throughout her life. Ruth also had a lifelong affection for cats, which brought her great comfort and joy.
Ruth married the love of her life, James P. Perry, on May 4, 1968, in Sharon, PA, and he preceded her in death on August 21, 1992. She cherished time spent traveling on family vacations and hosting gatherings in her home, where she created countless memories for those she loved.
She is survived by her daughters, Lisa M. Perry, of Daytona Beach, FL, and Kristin R. Bowser (Eric), of Murrysville, PA; her son, Michael J. Perry (Marie), of Hudson, OH; and her daughter-in-law, Shelly Isacco, of Slippery Rock, PA. Ruth is also survived by her eight grandchildren, whom she loved and spoiled greatly: James Checkosky, Ani Checkosky, Brayden Perry, Perry Bowser, Jocelynn Bowser, Noah Perry, Isaac Perry, and Jacob Perry; and many extended family members and friends who will carry her memory forward. She also leaves her beloved cat, Angel Marie Perry.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her son, Anthony J. “Tony” Perry; and two brothers, David E. Lohr and James G. Lohr.
