Ruth Ann Rockwell, 87, of Mercersburg, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025.
Born December 7, 1937, in Fort Loudon, PA, she was a daughter of the late John Arthur and Dorothy Genevieve Best.
Ruth Ann graduated from James Buchanan High School in 1955. On August 26, 1956 she married Joel Elwood "Woodie" Rockwell. Together, they raised two children, Craig and Cammie. Ruth Ann loved spending time with her family and enjoyed outings with her friends. She also enjoyed shopping, trips to the ocean, and loved tending to her flower gardens.
Ruth Ann was a member of St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mercersburg, PA.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Woodie Rockwell, two children, Craig (Cindy) Rockwell and Cammie (Ken) Myers, 6 grandchildren, Leah, Matthew, Liza, Natalie, Ethan, and Greta, and 10 great-grandchildren, Louisa, Eve, Telmo, Uma, Genevieve, Vedder, Theodore, Russell, Elwood, and Odette. Ruth Ann is survived by a brother, Barry Best and his wife Linda.
A memorial service will be 11:00 AM on Friday September 19, 2025, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mercersburg with Reverend Horn and Reverend David W. Kent officiating. There will be a visitation 1 hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital online at www.stjude.org
