Ruth (Ruthie, Rutz) Sapone
Ruth Sapone - Jan. 15, 1928-Jan. 9, 2024
Ruth Sapone died peacefully in her sleep on Jan. 9, 2024.
Ruth, born on Jan. 15, 1928, and fondly known as "Ruthie" or "Rutz", will be remembered for her love of family (like her Mom), sense of humor (like her Dad) and strong will, which she handed down to her children.
Married to the love of her life for almost 75 years, she had a true "til death do you part" love story. Ruthie and her beloved husband, the late Pasquale "Pat", loved doing things together – golfing, bowling, fishing, camping, traveling, walking, watching TV and shopping. And, they loved to dance. Their daughter Gail said, "Watching them on the dance floor warmed my heart and gave me goosebumps. Their love was truly beautiful. All she wanted was her Pat and he came to get her and celebrate her birthday dancing on the clouds."
Ruth raised her children and worked part time when the youngest started school. After she retired, she watched her grandson, Kyle, when her daughter returned to work. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren tremendously. Gail said, "She used to gently caress our cheeks and back to help us fall asleep. I did that for my son, now I do it for my grandchildren."
In addition to Pasquale, Ruth was predeceased by her father, Freddy Bloom; her mother, Felicia (Fanny) Bloom; her brothers, Bobby and William "Bill" Bloom; her sisters, Marie Dorsey (also her best friend and look-alike) Lillian Collins and Carole Tornatore; her brothers-in-law, Joseph and Rocco; her sister-in-law, Antoinette Marczyk; her father-in-law Erasmo (Joseph) Sapone (he gave her the nickname Rutz; they were very close); and, her mother-in-law, Elizabeth Sapone.
Ruth is survived by her children, Patti Sapone (and her husband, Walter); Gary Sapone, Joe Sapone (and his wife, Carolyn) and Gail Sapone; her grandchildren, Kyle Woodworth - her adventure buddy (and his wife, Nicole), Wesley Sapone, and Lauren Sapone; her great-grandchildren, Lukas Woodworth, Maverick Pasquale Woodworth, Sebastian Nicholas Woodworth; sister-in-law Mary DaSilva and many nieces, nephews and many friends.

Gary and Ray had wonderful next-door neighbors, Pat and Ruth Sapone. They kept their (Oak Ridge TN) house and property looking great in the 1990's. We still have the spring-filled pond their grandson, Kyle, enjoyed visiting.
