CLINTON – Ruth E. Scalise, 94, passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021, in the comfort of her home, with her loving family by her side.

Ruth was born on February 7, 1927, in Utica, the daughter of Bertrum and Zeta (Prentice) Coe.

On March 18, 1961, Ruth was united in marriage with Nicholas A. Scalise, a loving union of 55 years prior to his passing on March 25, 2016.

Ruth was a sales associate at Nichols in New Hartford prior to retiring.

She enjoyed Sunday dinner with family with her famous meatballs and lasagna. Ruth went all out for the holidays enjoying every moment with all of her family. She loved time spent on vacation in Florida and Las Vegas. Ruth will be missed by her dog, Lucy who was always by her side to the very end.

Surviving are her daughters, Linda (Harry) Roberts, Whitesboro, Tammy (Lou) DeAngelo, Clinton, Debra Hughes, Clinton, Sandra (Mark) Scholl, New Hartford, Sue Hite and Warren Seeley, Rochester, 17 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren.

Ruth was predeceased by her son, Michael Scotellaro; sons-in-law, Michael Hughes and Bill Phillips.

In keeping with Ruth's wishes, funeral services will be private, under the direction of McGrath, Myslinski, Karboski & Nunn Funeral Directors, 470 French Rd., Utica.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Utica, with her beloved husband, Nick.

Ruth's family would like to thank Nascentia Health and her grandchildren, Karen, Kayla, Shayne, and Alicia for their care and compassion.

Remembrances in Ruth's name may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. (www.hospicecareinc.org) in gratitude for the excellent care and support they provided to Ruth and her family.
