Ruth Sophia Schuerman (nee Gutermuth), of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the age of 102. Beloved wife of the late Elmer J. Schuerman; cherished daughter of the late Elmer and Nora Gutermuth; devoted mother of Chester (Hope) Schuerman, Joyce (the late Gerald) Schiermeier, and the late Marla (survived by Lynn) Jeffries; loving grandmother of Mark Schuerman, Susan Tormala, Jocelyn Coates, Jason Schiermeier, Kelly Palermo, Brian Jeffries; treasured great grandmother of 13, and great-great grandmother of 1; dear sister of Walter Gutermuth and the late Goldie Hampton

Ruth, who was born and raised on a farm, had a kind heart and a warm smile for everyone she met. Ruth loved quilting, cooking, and especially baking—each Christmas she made an abundance of cookies for the whole family. She and her beloved husband, Elmer, shared over 60 wonderful years of marriage. Ruth adored her family and was actively involved in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also had a great love for music throughout her life. Ruth was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
