Ruth A. Simpson, age 90, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2025. She was born November 2, 1934, in Grand Haven, MI, to Henry and Emily (Kolberg) Neitring. On November 8, 1952, she married Jay D. Simpson in Grand Haven, and he preceded her in death on December 23, 2013. Ruth was a member of Lakeshore Lutheran Church, where she participated in the Wednesday Women's Group. Ruth was an excellent cook and for many years enjoyed camping with her husband, Jay. SURVIVORS include her son, Doug Simpson; three grandchildren: Chad (Brandy) Simpson, Christopher (Sarah) Simpson, and Tiffany (Jason) Romine; 12 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Norma Buczek and Shirley (John Stuart) Pendergrass; and several nieces and nephews. Private services for Ruth will be held. She will be laid to rest in Lakeshore Cemetery.
