With grace, wisdom, and unwavering love, Ruth Stephan departed this world peacefully in Edgewood, Kentucky, surrounded by her devoted son and daughter-in-law. Her life was a tapestry of elegance, resilience, and quiet strength-a legacy that will echo through generations. Born in Muskegon, Michigan, Ruth was the youngest of two daughters to William Ward and Edith Brown. She spent her formative years in Hartford City, Indiana, where she graduated as Valedictorian of the Class of 1954. Summers at Lake Tippecanoe were among her fondest memories-filled with sunshine, laughter, and the carefree joy of youth. Ruth attended Indiana University, where her intellect and curiosity flourished. It was there, in the halls of academia, that she met her lifelong love, Norman Michael Stephan. They married in 1958, beginning a partnership that would span nearly six decades, marked by deep devotion and shared adventure. Together, Ruth and Norman raised two sons, Doug and Craig, in their Fort Wayne Indiana home of 47 years and instilling in them the values of integrity, curiosity, travel, and compassion. Ruth was an accomplished accountant, lending her talents to several companies throughout her career with precision and professionalism A woman of many passions, Ruth co-authored a bridge book titled Bridge with the Stephans and achieved the prestigious rank of Life Master. Her love for the game never waned-she continued playing online well into her later years, always sharp and strategic. Ruth's adventurous spirit extended to travel. She embarked on numerous cruises to the Caribbean and Europe, and spent magical time in Belize. Her most treasured journey was a 50th anniversary celebration in Cancun, surrounded by her sons and grandchildren, basking in love and tropical warmth. In retirement, Ruth and Norman settled in Orlando, Florida, where they lived in a hotel near the magic of Disney. Ruth delighted in waking each morning to the joyful sounds of children heading off to meet Mickey Mouse. Even after Norman's passing, she remained in Florida, embracing its sunshine and serenity until just this year. Ruth was predeceased by her beloved husband Norman and her son Craig. She is survived by her sister Rebecca, her son Doug (Jo Ann), grandchildren Alexa (Will), Paul (Annie), and Elia, great-grandchildren Anthony and Iris, and a constellation of nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. Ruth Stephan's life was not just lived-it was an adventure. Her legacy is stitched into the hearts of those who knew her, a reminder that love, grace, and quiet strength are the most enduring gifts we leave behind.A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from 1:00 P.M. until the Memorial Service at 2:00 P.M. at Serenity Funeral Care, 40 West 6th Street,
