Cumberland – Ruth Ella Stonebreaker, 81, of Cumberland, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024 at her home.
Born October 1, 1942, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late William and Edna (Keefer) Stonebreaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles and Edward Stonebreaker; her sisters, Doris Senn and Kathleen Welsh; and her brother-in-law, Harold Kerns.
Ruth was a graduated of Fort Hill High School Class of 1960. She worked at Sacred Heart Hospital then retired from Western Maryland Hospital after 47 years in housekeeping. She enjoyed BINGO and playing the lottery.
Ruth is survived by her brother, Jerry Stonebreaker (Dorothy); her sister Virginia Kerns; as well as many nieces and nephews and a large extended family.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Bruce McBride officiating.
Interment will be in Mount Hermon Cemetery.
