Ruthie Aleen Crawford, affectionally known as Nena, age 84, of Mena, Arkansas peacefully passed away Friday, March 28, 2025, at her home.
Ruth was born June 24, 1940, in Pilot Point, Texas to Albert Guy Gentry and Gertrude Jones. She loved walking and could be seen treading many miles around Janssen Park and then later at Pinecrest Memorial Park. She also enjoyed going to the gym, gardening and canning. She cooked wonderful meals for her family and baked goods during the holidays for gifts to friends and family. She could make the best Sweet Tea, which no one could replicate, and her blackberry cobbler was always a crowd pleaser. She loved feeding her birds and watching them. Ruthie especially loved spending time with her family. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her daughter Rhonda Weatherford and husband Eric; Grandchildren, Aaron Cummings and wife Jonte, Brandon Cummings, Calvin Cummings and Fiancé Julie Fuhrmann; Great-Grandchildren, Mattie Cummings, Wilson Hughes, Brooklyn Cummings, Braxton Cummings, Bronson Cummings, Sophia Cummings, Levi Cummings, and Heston Cummings; step-daughter, Judy Looney and partner, Steve Salonek; step-grandchild, Zach Looney and wife Kena; step-great-grandchildren, Bentley Looney, Hunter Looney, Melodee Looney of Gillette Wyoming; Sisters, Marcelle Shelton of Dequeen, AR, Nina White of Decatur, TX, and Brenda Ellis of Tyler, TX; Special friends, Shelly McCulley and Terry Crawford. She was preceded in death by her husband, R.B. Crawford, her Mother and Father, Alert Guy and Gertrude Gentry and 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
Graveside service will be Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Mena, Arkansas with Brother Mark Lyle officiating under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 1st, 2025 at Beasley-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Online obituary at www.beasleywoodfuneralhome.com
