Ryan Allen Currie, 26, of Hutchinson, died January 29, 2025, after a long silent struggle. He was born October 29, 1998 in Wichita.
Ryan graduated from Hutchinson High School with the class of 2017. He was a loving father who doted on his daughter and his wife-to-be. Ryan had an infectious spirit, loved with all his heart, and always had a smile for everyone. He was an avid University of Kansas fan, "Go KU." Ryan enjoyed fishing, camping, and working for his uncle Steve. He was a loyal Tom Brady fan and loved playing pool with his aunt Mickey.
Ryan is survived by: his wife-to-be, Amanda Furtaw of Hutchinson; daughter, Jocelyn Currie of Hutchinson; his mother, PJ Blackburn and step-father, Chad Feezor of Hutchinson; his father, Guy Currie of Missouri; and his siblings, Chelsey (Troy) Neitzel of Arizona, Marcy and Matthew Currie of Hutchinson; his aunt, Mickey (Steve) Blackburn of Hutchinson; his uncles, Jimmy and Larry Aston of Hutchinson; his cousins, Ashley, Kelsie, Preston, Zac, Dallas, Rickey, Bobbie, Victoria, Daniel and Andrew, all of Hutchinson. He is also survived by numerous friends, nephews, nieces, and all who loved him.
He was preceded in death by: grandpa and grandma Blackburn; great-grandfather Vincent; nephew, Jimmy Aston; and beloved friends, Elijah Johnson and Xander Anderson.
Celebration of Life will be Saturday, February 22, 2025, with more details to come. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Ryan Currie Fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501. To benefit the Ryan Currie Memorial Fund, please make the check payable to Elliott Mortuary. All memorials will be used to benefit his daughter's future.
