Memorial Visitation for Ryan L. Dorman, age 39, of Fairmont, MN, will be 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. with a time of reflection and sharing memories at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025, at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Inurnment will be in Graceland Cemetery in Albert Lea, MN, at 2 pm on Saturday October 4, 2025. Ryan passed away on Friday morning, September 19, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Rochester, MN, after a devastating battle with liver cancer. The Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting with arrangements.
Ryan Lee Dorman was born September 5, 1986, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Kevin and Pamela (Helgerson) Dorman. He grew up in Fairmont and graduated from Fairmont High School in 2005.
Ryan began working at The Ranch Restaurant in 2003 as a dishwasher. Through hard work, dedication, and his sense of humor in the kitchen, he worked his way up to Kitchen Manager, a role he held until 2024. During those years, he built countless friendships and made a lasting impact, including with his longtime friend and partner, Laura Robson.
Outside of work, Ryan enjoyed skateboarding, going to concerts, trying his luck at the casino, and kicking back with his favorite TV show, Saved by the Bell. He was passionate about music-especially '90s rap and heavy metal-and loved cheering on his Minnesota teams: the Twins, Vikings, and Timberwolves. He had a deep interest in history, a soft spot for his cats Pete and Rachel, and a gift for making ordinary moments memorable. A simple man at heart, Ryan treasured his friends and the good times they shared.
Ryan's memory will be cherished by his partner, Laura Robson; his brothers Eric (Victoria) Dorman and Jeremy (Darcy) Dorman; his nieces and nephews, Nolan, Neil, Norah, and Madison; as well as many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kevin and Pamela Dorman, and his grandparents, Robert and Delores Dorman and Verlyn and Betty Helgerson.
