Ryan Joseph Maino, 46, of Negaunee, entered eternal life Thursday, October 23rd, 2025 at his home.
Ryan was born December 4, 1978 in Ishpeming to Joseph and Jean (Jalonen) Maino. As a kid, Ryan was a pistol, just ask his babysitters: Debbie, Sheri, Tricia and Michelle.
Ryan loved sports. He played baseball, hockey, basketball and football. While in high school, he started working with Doug Maki in construction. He graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 1997 and then earned his bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Northern Michigan University. While in college, Ryan helped establish and co-owned and operated GE Builders with Brian Frustaglio.
Ryan enjoyed Camp Plevna, with the Plevna boys, playing cards, hunting and fishing. Ryan and Brian 'Beef' built an addition to Camp Plevna and also remodeled Ryan's parent's home.
Surviving are his loving parents, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Louise and Victor Jalonen; his paternal grandparents, Josephine and James Maino; and an infant sister, Melissa, in 1980.
Ryan will be greatly missed by his friends and relatives, but no one will miss him more than his MOM and DAD.
Visitation will be held from 12:30-2:00 pm on Thursday, October 30th at St. Paul Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 2:00 pm with Rev. Larry Van Damme officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow at the Negaunee Elks Lodge. Burial will be in the Negaunee Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brian Frustaglio, Jeff Niemi, Andy Racine, Mike Dellangelo, Derek Dushane, Mark Rivord, Mark Ulvila and Nick Filibeck. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be directed to Bay Cliff Health Camp in Ryan's memory.
