Ryan was the son of Robyn J. (Mark) Shanks of Averill Park, NY and Marshall (Beth) Coulter of Mechanicville, NY; Brother of Shaina M. Shanks, Averill Park, NY; He was the son-in-law of William and Debra Welch of Cohoes, NY; Brother-in-law of Brittany (Shanna) Welch of Cohoes, NY; Uncle of Christopher and Jaedyn.
Ryan was survived by his grandmother Carol Sala of Cohoes, NY. Ryan is pre-deceased by his grandparents of David J. (Shirley) Large, Troy, NY and Livingston (Elinor) Coulter, Stillwater, NY.
Ryan was a graduate of Troy High in 2000 and went on to become a Process Technician at his dream job at Regeneron.
Ryan enjoyed thrifting, wrestling, golf, going to shows, attending Giants and Yankees games, taking trips to Lake George, but there was nothing he enjoyed more than spending time with his family and friends. Ryan was one of a kind, the life of the party, and was one of the most down to earth people to be around. His contagious laugh, ability to tell the best stories, and love for being involved with his kids sports will forever be remembered.
Ryan was survived by many aunts, uncles, and friends who he called brothers, along with their children. Ryan was also survived by his two dearest friends Justin (Linnea), Heffner, Mechanicville, NY, their three children Levi, Gavin and Travis and Jeffrey (Summer) Streeter and their four kids Travis, Madelynne, Ashton, and Zane.
Funeral services will be Monday March 4, 2024 at 7 pm at the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St., (Rte.32) Waterford.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday March 4 from 4-7 pm, prior to the funeral service.
