Ryan Canaan Romines, 37 of Knoxville, TN passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022. Ryan attended University of Tennessee for his undergrad and grad school. He graduated in 2010 with a Masters degree in nursing from the University of Tennessee. Ryan was an avid UT football and basketball fan- win or lose he loved his Vols. Some of his "greatest" accomplishments that he loved to tell his children were: that he was number 1 chair trombone player @ Seymour Community Christian School(there were only two chairs, about his basketball days with his dad as his coach, playing soccer and basketball in high school and every time we went to get groceries, he would say to the kids have I told you the time about being the fastest bagger district champion, at Food City, as a teenager. However, Ryan's greatest accomplishment was his children. He coached the boys in flag football, soccer and alongside his dad basketball. He was at every practice and every game. He found great joy in recreating his childhood thru our children. Ryan was "the fun parent" always tapping into their imaginations, building traps, forts and taking the kids "snipe hunting". He was adamant they all learn to "use their hands" especially the boys. He absolutely loved giving them a sense of adventure. Whether that was a spontaneous road trip, hunting salamanders in the cascades at the Chimneys in the Great Smoky mountains, grilling out at the Cove, roasting marshmallows, carving pumpkins, blasting the radio on full volume or camping. Most days there was no plan, but that was when Ryan was the happiest.
Ryan's favorite holiday was 4th of July and Halloween. I think he loved it more than the kids did.
Ryan loved his family fiercely. He was an amazing husband, great father, and loving son and brother.
Ryan was an active member of Parkwest Church and 7th grade boys small group leader.
Ryan is preceded in death by his papaw; Fred Romines, grandma; Lavern Ussery, and his uncles Kenny Shirley and Greg Shirey
Ryan is survived by his wife; Melissa Romines. His eight children Luke, Averi, Sydney and Audrey Romines and his adopted children Rome, Logan, Kalani and Cruz Romines. Parents; Michael and Leesa Romines. Granny, Betty Romines and two brothers; Chad (Angel) Romines and Adam Romines. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service, 7pm Tuesday July 5, 2022 at Rose Mann Mortuary with Dr. Jeremy McGinnis officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm with service to follow at Rose Mann Mortuary, 6200 Kingston Pike Blvd Knoxville TN. A Private interment will follow the next day.
