Ryan J. Starr, 42, a lifelong resident of Bay City, Michigan passed away unexpectedly December 21, 2025 in Bay City, Michigan. Ryan was born February 22, 1983 to Robert P. and Patricia A. (Keipinger) Starr. He attended All Saints High School and had been in the manufacturing field. He enjoyed all sports, playing and watching. He was a fanatic of playing online poker and played with many different people from all over the country. Ryan was an adventurer and would take Landon, his son, with no known destinations to start off out to the many local woods walking and hiking enjoying the outdoors. Ryan was outgoing and loved his family dearly.
Ryan is survived by his adoring son, Landon; mother, Patricia A. (Tony) Escamilla of Bay City; brother, Christopher Starr; extended family Eric (Emily) Escamilla and Natalie (Robert) Campbell; several nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles, Pat (Jim) Mindykowski, Rick (Laurie) Starr, Ann Flattery, Dave (Barb) Starr who are also his Godparents, Mary (Marty) Lagalo, Jerry (Tonya) Kepinger, special aunt, Lori Hansen as well as numerous extended aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Ryan is preceded in death by his father, Robert P. Starr; brother, Justin Starr; grandparents, Richard and Esther Starr, Allan Keipinger, Barbara Satkowiak; uncles, Patrick Flattery, Ralph Keipinger, Roy Zielinski and Matthew Kepinger.
Ryan's family will gather on Saturday, January 3, 2026 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Squires Funeral Home, 211 N. Henry St., Bay Ctiy, MI 48706. A celebration of life ceremony led by Jane Grzegorczyk will begin at 2 p.m. at the funeral home as well. Ryan will be laid to rest at a later date in a private family ceremony at St. Patrick Cemetery in Bay City, Michigan.
