Sabas Guajardo Jr.

Sabas Guajardo Jr., a devoted husband, brother, father and grandfather passed away September 24, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. He was 86 years old. Born on May 18, 1939, in Laredo, Texas, Sabas spent his life in San Antonio. His early years led him to serve his country with honor; he completed 4 years of service in the United States Army. Following his military service, Sabas continued his commitment to public safety by joining the fire department. He served as a fire fighter with dedication and courage until his retirement in 1989. 1976 marked another significant chapter in Sabas's life. Together with his wife Maria Evelia Guajardo, he co-founded Casa Guajardo - a cherished religious article store that became a cornerstone of the south side of San Antonio. Through their work at Casa Guajardo, Sabas and Maria provided not only services but also spiritual support and connection for countless families over decades. He was preceded in death by his father, Sabas Guajardo Sr. whose name he carried with honor and his mother Maria De Los Santos Menchaca Guajardo as well as his 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Sabas is survived by his beloved wife Maria Evelia Guajardo, his son Sabas and daughter Annette and her husband Eddie Bauer. Sisters Rosalinda Lopez, Nydia Hinojosa, and Teresa Galan. He was a proud grandfather to Maryann (Eric Puente), Ashley (Matthew Geschke), Andrea, Jasmin (Eduardo Soto) and great grandson Caleb Puente each of whom brought joy and pride into his later years.
