Sadie Emily Bledsoe, 89, of Byron, Georgia passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. A celebration of life will be 10:00 AM Thursday, November 21, 2024, at FairHaven Funeral Home 4989 Mount Pleasant Church Rd. Macon, Georgia. A visitation will be held the evening before 4:00PM – 6:00 PM and all are welcome to attend.
Sadie was born in Macon, Georgia on November 11, 1935, to the late Mr. Guy Miller and Mrs. Nellie Gilleland. She was an exceptionally strong matriarch who would do anything for her family. She is described as a good-hearted yet stubborn mother who would accept you no matter what. Her passions include playing bingo, cards, relaxing on the beach, front porch sitting, but most of all cooking. She insisted the holidays take place at her house so she could prepare all the meals that went with them. She poured her love into everything she made, and it showed. She would always make a plate to send home. Her passion, her love, her meals, and especially her memory will be dearly missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years Homer Bledsoe "Pop"; daughters, Vickie Bailey, Wendy Barroso; three brothers; sons-in-law, Jim Johnson, Rocky Martin, and granddaughter; Michelle Johnson
Left to cherish her memory are son, Sydney Bledsoe; daughters, Sandra Johnson, Paula Martin; son-in-law, Joe Barroso; sisters, Gerry Glenn, Janet Bowden; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
