Manchester, Tennessee – Mrs. Sadie Esther Reed, age 87, of Manchester, Tennessee, passed from this life Thursday, January 4, 2024, in Manchester, Tennessee.
Mrs. Reed was born in Manchester, Tennessee, to her late parents George Wesley Taylor and Lillie Mae Ritchie Taylor. She was a homemaker all her life and she and her husband, Bill, were both members of New Hope Baptist Church. Mrs. Reed loved life and loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed doing yard work and tending to her flowers, loved quilting, and singing. Mrs. Reed would do anything for anyone and was a cut-up.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Barney Taylor, Ivan Taylor, and John Taylor; sisters, Berdene Faulkner, Dorothy Freeze, Edith Finchum, Naomi Jane Taylor and Margaret Bush.
Mrs. Reed is survived by her husband of 69 years, Bill Reed; sons, William Dewayne (Brenda) Reed and Charles Anthony "Tony" Reed; daughters, Julia (Mike) Davis and Teresa Swiger; sisters, Peggy Lorene (Howard) Reed and Linda (Ross) Reed; grandchildren, Misty, Crystal, Jennifer, Sarah, Rebecca, Derek, Racheal, Jessica, Jakob, Kate, Toni, and Shannon; great grandchildren, Eden, Taylor, Zoie, Kieran, Brianna, Nate, Eli, Matt, Zech, Will, Allison, Sadie, Kohen, Julian, Anthony, Connor, Ryan, Keagan, and Marshall.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Central Funeral Home in Manchester, TN. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, January 7, 2024, at 2:00pm at New Hope Baptist Church with Bro. Kelly Lewis and Bro. Leon Williams officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Baptist Cemetery, next to the church.
