Sally Naomi Cowell, cherished wife, mother, sister and grandmother; passed on from this physical world at her home in Weatherford Texas, on Friday, April 9, 2021. Sally was born January 27, 1939, daughter of B.R. and Viola Matthews of Dalhart, Texas, and sister to Larry and Dennis Matthews. She became a resident of Parker County in 1973. She met and married Barry Joe Cowell on August 7, 1975, and lived the remainder of her life in Weatherford along side him.
Anyone who met Sally loved her. She had a vivacious spirit wrapped in kindness and love to all she encountered. She loved her family above all and will be remembered for this most. Sally fought many years of illness and was notably strong and courageous. She was a fighter but now is dancing with Jesus.
Sally is survived by her husband, Barry Joe Cowell, and their children and grandchildren; stepdaughter, Karen Cowell; son, Matthew Brian Mansker; daughter, Angela Dawn Smith; grandson, Matthew Brian Mansker, II; granddaughter, Bailey Naomi Smith; grandson, Joshua Coyle “JC” Smith; and granddaughter, Macee Grace Rainey. She is also survived by her brother, Dennis Lee Matthews.
We will be holding graveside service at Poe Prairie Cemetery, located at 4723 S Highway 113, Millsap, Texas 76066, on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., to celebrate her.
