Sally Ann Douglas, 90, formally of Chateaugay, passed away on October 28, 2025 with her family by her side at Elderwood of Uihlein at Lake Placid. Graveside service will be held on Saturday November 8, 2025 at 1:00 pm at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Chateaugay with Deacon Bryan Dwyer officiating. The Douglas family has put the trust of their loved one in the care of Frary Funeral Home Malone.
Sally was born on June 2, 1935 in Brainardsville to the late Patrick and Anabel (Dora) O'Donnell. She attended Chateaugay school. After school, Sally went to work for Warner Dress Factory for a short time until becoming a stay-at-home mom. On September 25, 1954 Sally married Ardon Douglas at St. Patrick's Church in Chateaugay. Sally would spend her time not just raising their family but also making sure their children had clothes that she had sewn for them to wear along with cooking and canning foods for them to enjoy over the long winters. In her spare time Sally would upholster furniture, sit on the front porch watching the goings on around town, read romance novels, going to garage sales, and doing puzzles.
Sally is survived by her children; Walter (Wendy) Douglas of Duane, Cindy (Matt) Helm of Chateaugay, Stephen (Theresa Smith) Douglas of Bangor, Julie Wilcox of Chateaugay, and Tammy (Bob Otis) Feimann of Burke, a sister; Caroline Boyce of Concord, NH, ten grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband Ardon, two sons; Patrick and Gerald, and a brother and sister-in-law; Rodney and Connie O'Donnell.
