Sally Malatinsky Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McGeehan Funeral Homes Keck-Coleman Chapel on Jan. 5, 2023.
Sally Lorraine Malatinsky, of St. Johns, died peacefully, surrounded by family, on January 4, 2023 after a valiant battle with cancer. She was 72 years old.
Sally was born on March 8, 1950, the second of seven children born to William and Mildred (Vostrirancky) Dush. She graduated from Rodney B. Wilson High School in 1968 and enjoyed a long career in data processing until her retirement in 2003.
Sally was the kindest of souls, everyone's path whom she crossed was touched by her gregarious, compassionate nature. She loved people, and people loved her. Her family was the light of her life, and she loved nothing more than hosting family holidays and game night every Friday. Sally adored (and spoiled) her grandchildren, who range in age from three to twenty-seven. She was an avid card and game player – bingo, euchre, rummy, cribbage, and aggravation were among her favorites. For the last fourteen years, Sally looked forward to spending the winter and playing cards in Zephyr Hills, Florida with Jon, and friends. She was always busy and on the go, truly living life to the fullest.
She will be missed by many, especially by the love of her life, Jon Thelen; her beloved daughters, Nikki (Ty) Maneval, Becky (Shawn) Fike, Jennifer Malatinsky; twelve cherished grandchildren, Brianna (Kyler), Dakota (Kayla), Makaila (Austin), Dustin, Makenzie, Wyatt (Lexi), Dylan (Eloise), Colton, Emma, Jazlynn, Parker and Kennedy; father, William (Andrea) Dush; five brothers, Ronnie Dush, John (Amy) Dush, Jerry (Dawn) Dush, Tim (Dee) Dush, Philip (Sandy) Dush; one sister, Peggy (Denny) Walker, as well as nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Dush and son, Michael Malatinsky.
A Memorial Service will be held at McGeehan Funeral Home, Keck-Coleman Chapel, 1500 Waterford Pkwy, St. Johns on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at 2 PM. Pastor Kathy Leydorf-Keck officiating. A light luncheon will follow. Friends may visit the funeral home on Sunday from 12 -2 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Sparrow Oncology/Cancer Center or to Sparrow Hospice Services (Hospice House of Mid-Michigan): https://secure.qgiv.com/for/spaheasys/
