Sally Jean Redden

Sally Jean Redden, 83, of Phenix City, AL died at Piedmont, Midtown, Columbus, GA on Friday, February 17, 2023.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM (EST) on Monday, February 20, 2023 at Ladonia Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Hyche officiating according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. Interment will follow in Ladonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM till the funeral hour on Monday at the church.
Ms. Redden was born February 18, 1939 in Albany, NY. She was preceded in death by her parents, LTC (Ret) Walter and Edna Clarisse Paul Redden (who died when Ms. Redden was three years old); the beautiful mother who raised her after the death of Ms. Edna, Virginia Browning Redden; two sisters, Ruth Rushby and Elizabeth "Betty" Zimmerman and one brother, LTC (Ret) Thomas "Tom" Redden.
Survivors include her brother, Paul Redden (Sue) and a sister, Jane Whisenant (Galen); special friends, Scott and Kim Rhodes and their children; numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
She was a charter member of the Marching Southerners Band at Jacksonville State University, something she considered an honor. Ms. Redden had also graduated from New Orleans Theological Seminary with a master's in music. She found great joy in sharing her gift of music and was an accomplished pianist. Ms. Redden was an active member of Ladonia Baptist Church where she led the Children's Choir and served in the GA's as a leader. She was also an avid reader and animal lover. The beautiful music she shared will continue to be a tribute to her ministry.
