Sally Kay (Carnes) Storey, age 76, went to be with her Lord and Savior, and her heavenly family on Sunday, September 28, 2025. She was born February 25, 1949 in Gonzales to Lee & Evelyn (Ellison) Carnes.
She graduated from Gonzales High School in 1967 and attended two years of college. She returned to Gonzales and married her partner in life, William (Bill) Storey, on December 20, 1969. Together they ran Storey Jewelers from 1972-1996. Sally was a faithful Christian who devoted much of her time in various roles serving God. She taught Sunday school, sang in the church choir, she was involved in the walk to Emmaus program, participated in church plays, and most importantly, was a living example of Christ's love.
Those that knew her would describe her as patient, positive, forgiving, nurturing, fun, affectionate, silly, devoted, caring, and she loved unconditionally. Most people would describe her simply as sweet and kind.
Sally loved to travel, go out to eat, play games, watch movies, hang out with her Thursday friend group, and spending time with family. However, her greatest enjoyment came from being a Grammy. She was definitely made for that role in order for her grandchildren to understand how it is to be loved and she had it down to perfection.
Survivors are her husband of 55 years, Bill Storey of Gonzales; sons, Eric Storey and wife Trisha of Cost, Philip Storey and wife Natalie of Wrightsboro; daughter Anna Jacobs and husband Brant of Hope; Eight Grandchildren, Gabriella Angel (Eduardo), Sebastian Cristan, Parker Storey, Holden Jacobs, Dylan Storey, Kelson Jacobs, McKinley Jacobs, Andrew Storey; 1 Great grandchild, Jaxon Angel
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee & Evelyn Carnes, and sisters, Linda Lee Carnes and Sue Evelyn Carnes.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 2 from 9:30-11:00am at the First Methodist Church of Gonzales. Funeral service at 11:00am with Reverend Dr. Matt Pennington officiating. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Parkinson's Foundation, the First United Methodist Church of Gonzales, or the charity of donor's choice.
