Sally Ann Swanson, the heartbeat of her family, passed away peacefully at home on August 18, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Marquette September 30, 1930, Sally was known for her warmth, resilience, and a happy personality that brightened every life she touched. Independent until the very end, she lived with grace, humor, and an unwavering love for her family.

She is survived by her daughter Julie (Dan) Liberty and son George (Kathleen) Swanson, III

7 grandchildren - Bradford, Ana (Brad Hogfoss), Lindsay, and Ross Liberty, Jon (Naoko) and Neil (Ellen) Swanson, and Erin (Brett) Bonsall

10 great-grandchildren - Odin and Rasmus Liberty, Von Liberty-Hogfoss, Aila, Carin, and Emalee Swanson, Dee, Mabel, and Elsie Swanson, and Margo Bonsall.

Sally was predeceased by her husband, George A. Swanson, Jr., with whom she shared 50 cherished years, her parents Russell and Anna Brown, sister Dorothy (Clyde) Zerbel, and granddaughter-in-law Abby Liberty.

Her joyful presence and steadfast spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

The family wishes to thank all who have shown kindness and support during this difficult time. Honoring Sally's wishes no services will be held. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Lake Superior Life Care and Hospice, 914 W. Baraga Avenue, Marquette, MI 49855.
