Ms. Claire "Sam" Middleton Pangle, 89, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
Sam was born in Jackson, Co. February 26, 1937, to the late Ransom and Hazel Matthews Middleton.
She worked and retired from nursing after many years; she started on the psychiatric ward at Angel Medical Center.
Sam was a free-spirited person she loved her family and her cats and dogs. She knitted, crocheted, planting flowers in her garden, going to the outer banks and beach, beautiful music and good dancing.
Survivors include her son, Shaun Pangle; and two sisters, Natalie Owen and Brona Stewart; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Imogene Bush and Willene Teague.
