Sammie Kaye Nail was born on September 5, 1940, and passed from this life on September 6, 2025. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
Sammie attended Crossroads Cathedral, where she found a second family in her church community. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life-her first love was her Lord and Savior. Closely following that was her deep love for her husband, Robert, who was the love of her life for over 31 years.
She was a fun-loving, kind-hearted, and generous woman who brought joy to everyone around her. Sammie enjoyed shopping, cooking, and visiting the casino. She was especially known for her delicious fried chicken and homemade fudge. She also enjoyed watching Channel 4 News, The Price is Right, and Jeopardy.
Professionally, Sammie worked for the State of Oklahoma in the Department of Tourism, where she dedicated 16 years of service before retiring. She was a hard worker and a devoted homemaker who always provided for her family. Sammie loved eating out, especially at Grandy's and Furr's Cafeteria, and she cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Sammie touched the lives of many with her kind spirit, positive attitude, and giving heart. She was always ready to help anyone in need and leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Robert J. Nail Jr. and his wife, Tara; her stepson, Marvin Nail and his wife, Lori; her brothers, Ronnie and Paul Dill; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends.
Sammie is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert James Nail Sr. and son, Christopher Dill.
