Sammy Stone Obituary
Born in Pelzer, SC, she was the daughter of the late Robert Marshall Stone and Bess Jones Stone. Dr. Stone was a graduate of Lander University, received a Master of Science from Winthrop University and earned her Doctor of Science from the University of Tennessee. She was a retired teacher for Tennessee School for the Deaf. Dr. Stone was a member of Starr United Methodist Church in Starr, SC.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Bess and Jason Gaus.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Marshall "Bob" Stone, Jr.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 10, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson, SC.
Flowers are optional; memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

So very sad to learn of Sammy Jo's Passing. We were at Lander together in the 60's and we were very close for a while. She was one of a kind and will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
