Samuel Jess Booker

Samuel Jess "Sambo" Booker, 47, of Pine Mountain GA rode off into the sunset for the last time on December 13, 2025, leaving behind a legacy thicker than the river bottom.

Born on August 14, 1978 in LaGrange GA. He fought the good fight with colorectal cancer and metastatic disease for 6 years, and left knowing how loved he was by his family, friends, and colleagues.

He was a true "Good Ole Boy". Sammy was larger than life. He was a great teacher of life lessons, even if you didn't always like the lesson. He met no strangers, had a huge heart, and would give the shirt off his back to a friend in need. He loved with his whole heart and was loved by many.

He had several passions throughout his life, from chasing deer, wetting a line, collecting, to yelling "GO DAWGS" during every game. He taught many young ones how to respect the land, bait a hook, and live with integrity. His word and handshake were worth more than a signed contract. His laugh was infectious and he made sure every gathering had a healthy dose of humor and enough food to feed you twice.

Sammy is survived by his wife Sarah Booker; his children Caleb Booker, Justin Booker, and Bentleigh Booker; His extended family includes his mother Karen (Pressley) Sundberg (Wayne); His brother Toney Booker (Jessica); HIs father and mother in law Roy and Patsy Bradley; His sister-in-law Ida Bradley; His beloved nieces and nephews Logan Booker, Kolby Booker, Elliet Booker and Jamal Folds and a whole crew of buddies who knew him as "one of the good ones."

He joins his Father Lesley Paul Booker; His grandparents John T. and Carlene Smith; and many friends at the Great Fishin' Hole in the sky.

The family will receive friends at Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter-Allen-Myhand from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, December 16, 2025. The Celebration of Life will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. The committal service will directly follow the funeral and will be held at Meadoway Gardens in LaGrange, Georgia.

In lieu of flowers the family asks you to Gather together, raise a glass, tell your favorite Sammy story and maybe donate to the American Cancer Society or City of Hope in his honor. You can also honor his life by getting an annual screening completed. Early Detection Saves lIves.
