Samuel Dean Davis, 42, of Raphine, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at the UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville.
Born on June 29, 1982, in Augusta County, to the late Susan Jeanette Reese, Samuel was known for his unwavering dedication and strong work ethic as an arborist. He took great pride in his work and was testament to what it means to be industrious.
A true outdoorsman at heart, Samuel found joy in various activities that allowed him to connect with nature and enjoy the company of others. His passions included riding motorcycles, mudbogging, and kayaking, pursuits that brought him both thrill and peace.
Above all, he cherished the time spent with his daughters. Samuel was always there for his children, lending support and affection in everything they pursued. Those who knew him understood that if you needed help, he would be the first to show up, ready to lend a hand or offer comfort. He embodied selflessness, often willing to give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.
Samuel is survived by his children, Branson, Kaylee, and Willow Davis; his brother, Brandon Davis; his sisters, Kelli Smith, Wendy Smith, and Katie Lumsdon; his loving grandfather, Luther Reese; and his uncles, Keith and Buzzy Reese.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Sandra Reese.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, November 9. 2024, at Emerge Ministries in Stuarts Draft.
