Irvin Leslie Erler, 87, passed away on Monday, August 2, 2025, at Augusta Health in Fishersville, Virginia.
He was born on November 17, 1937, in Norman Township, MI, to the late Norman Henry and Ruby Adelia Demouth Erler.
He attended Norman-Dickson High School. After graduating in 1956, he joined the Navy. While in the Navy, he met his beloved wife of sixty-three years, Juanita Delpuy De La Conception Erler.
After serving, he attended Michigan State University and graduated as an Electrical Engineer in June 1964. He worked at General Electric at various locations until 1984. He left GE, and together with his wife, started their own business, Duratech Inc. Duratech designed and built custom industrial controls and instruments. They sold the business in 2005 and retired.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Gregory Erler (Lynessa) and Andrew Erler (Deborah); his grandchildren, Alexandra McCool (Austin), Callie Erler, Gabriella Erler, and Caitlin Roberts (Seth); and his great-grandson Aiden Roberts.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Eugene Erler; and his sister, Lois Fraundaufer.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service, beginning at 1:00PM.
Entombment will follow at Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Shenandoah (c/o Augusta Health Foundation, P.O. Box 1000, Fishersville, VA 22939).
