Samuel Lee Jones, age 66, of Martins Ferry, Ohio passed away peacefully August 19, 2025.

Samuel was born on January 8, 1959, in Steubenville, Ohio, to Bernadine (West) Jones and the late Marcus Garvey Jones, and was also the son of Freddie Thomas.

Samuel retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel and before then worked as a Bank Manager. During his high school years, he was actively involved in wrestling. Samuel cherished his family above all else and found great enjoyment in listening to music, working on and driving his cars, and watching the football.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Kimberly Thomas and brothers Marcus Garvey Jones, Jr., Charles Thomas, Jr. and Anthony Thomas.

Left to cherish Samuel's memory are his brothers Michael 'Gordie' West, T.R. Goodwin, William Thomas, Kevin Thomas and Sister Tonya Lee; children Che'Vaughn Johnson, Tamica Payton, Samuel Payton, Patricia Smith, Samneisha Walker, Dorian Banks, Rae'Keisha (Daniel) Knight, Sa'mar Jones, Dicarius 'D.C.' Banks, Samaira Jones, Kyra Lindsey, Jamison Lindsey, special niece, Tasha and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends may call on Friday August 29, 2025, from 11am to 1pm at the time of service at Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Bridgeport, Ohio 43912.
