Samuel Jones Obituary

He was born November 3, 1934 in Shenandoah County to the late William S. and Nellie Kerlin Jones.
Samuel graduated from New Market High Schol in 1953. He spent the majority of his life as a truck driver for Mason/Dixon Lines, and retired from Howell Metal Company.
He was united in marriage on December 20, 1969 to the former JoAnn Ryman. During their union of marriage two sons were born- Scott who passed away July 16, 2024, and Mark (Emily).
His health began deteriorating with the onset of Parkinson's disease. He was the oldest member of St. Luke's UCC "County Line" where he previously served on the cemetery committee. He enjoyed traveling after his retirement.
Besides his wife and son, he survived by a brother Ben (Sharon). His oldest brother, Carroll preceded him in death.
Will Rhodes will conduct a graveside service Sunday, November 23rd at 3:00 PM at St. Luke's UCC Cemetery near Timberville.
There will be no services at Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the VA Home Based Primary Care Team – Laura, Kate, Barbara, Vicky, and Emily for all their care and concern during Sam's struggle with his health issues. Also, our thanks to the staff at Timberview Crossing during his brief stay with them, as well as family and friends who remembered him with cards and visits. Your kindness will not be forgotten. A special thanks to the Grandle Funeral Home for their services.
