Samuel H. Jones

Samuel H. Jones, aged 83, peacefully passed away at his home in the morning hours of Monday, December 22, 2025, while in hospice care. He was born August 19, 1942, in Westerville, Ohio to the late Lucille (Tepper) and Leslie Amler Jones.
Sam was a 1960 graduate of Big Walnut High School and went on to receive his college degree from The Ohio State University. On July 12, 1969, he married the former Nancy Huntsman and together they made their home in Genoa Township where they had their son, William A. Jones.
Sam worked at Ross Laboratories in Columbus and enjoyed golfing, bowling, his CB radio and his getaway trips with Nancy to Tennessee and the Amish Country. Additionally, he liked to watch The Ohio State Buckeyes Football Team, the Cincinnati Reds and spending time with his lifelong friend, Terry.
In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by his stepfather, Elmer White, and his sisters, Martha Williams and Donna Kavanugh.
Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-six years, Nancy, his son, Bill and numerous nieces and nephews. Those missing him will remember Sam's helpful nature and his quick-witted humor.
In keeping with the family's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date.
