Samuel W. “Sam” Tolbert, 40, of Mitchell, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at his residence.
Sam was born in Bedford on July 14, 1985, to Tim L. and Vickie “Dusty” (Rout) Tolbert.
He was a diesel mechanic and a member of the Fishing Creek Christian Church. Sam was a 2004 graduate of Mitchell High School and a 2006 graduate of the University of Northwestern Ohio, with an Associate's Degree in Diesel Technology.
Sam was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed trail riding and playing cards.
Surviving to cherish Sam’s memory are his son, Wil A. Tolbert; mother, Dusty Tolbert; paternal grandmother, Sue Tolbert; and his companion, Jennifer McClintock, all of Mitchell.
He was preceded in death by his father, Tim L. Tolbert; paternal grandfather, Jerry L. Tolbert; and maternal grandparents, John and Wanda “Tootie” Rout.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Fishing Creek Christian Church, 752 Bono Road, Mitchell, with Pastor Kyle Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in the Talbott Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the service hour on Friday at the Fishing Creek Christian Church, Mitchell.
Pallbearers are Lucas Emberton, Zach Buher, J.R. Buher, Jason Garriott, Tyler Thompson, and Wes Hartzell.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Talbott Cemetery or an organization of the donor’s choice, in memory of Samuel “Sam” Tolbert.
