ADRIAN – Sandra Jeanne Ansted, age 81, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 1, 1942, in Yancey, Kentucky and was raised by the late Russ and Cleo (Hacker) Helka. On June 22, 1968, Sandy married the love of her life, Richard "Dickie" Ansted, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Adrian. They raised a family of two children and celebrated over 50 wonderful years together before his passing on January 29, 2019.
Sandy worked at Buckeye Products and retired after a long career of 30 years. While in retirement, Sandy was proud to serve as a crossing guard for the City of Adrian from 2009 to 2018 and she loved every minute of it.
Sandy was a lifetime member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed the simple things in life like fishing, listening to music, playing the daily lotto, watching University of Michigan football, her daily trips to Country Market and Walgreens, and spending time with her family. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. Fox news has lost one of their most faithful viewers.
To cherish her memory, Sandy leaves her children, Kim (Bruce) Ansted-Webb and Rusty Ansted; seven grandchildren: Lauren Webb, Tyler (Ramona) Webb, Samantha, Julya, Grace, Hannah, and Hayleigh Ansted; seven great grandchildren: Pheobe, Lincoln, Luca, Eli, Freya, Alina, Amelia, and one on the way; an aunt, Janice Scroggins; sister-in-law, Melodee Hoff; and her pride and joy, Bella.
In addition to her parents, Sandy is preceded in death by her loving husband, Dick Ansted; three siblings; and several aunts and cousins.
The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home in Adrian on Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 10:00 am until the memorial service begins at 12:00 pm.
