Sandra Mae “Sandy” Bohen, 78, of Long Beach, California, passed away peacefully on June 27th, 2025, in Los Alamitos. Born May 4, 1947, at Seaside Hospital in Long Beach, Sandy was the beloved daughter of Robert and Eleanor Bohen and sister to Earl and John, all of whom preceded her in death.
A compassionate and devoted educator, Sandy dedicated 38 years to teaching kindergarten in Long Beach. Her passion for nurturing young minds extended far beyond the classroom- she traveled the world for personal enrichment and to share her gifts at Vacation Bible School. Sandy’s devotion to the children of Long Beach and Bethany Lutheran was a small example of her commitment and generosity to spreading joy to others.
Sandy’s life will be celebrated on Friday July 18th, 2025. A memorial service will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church at 9:00am at 4644 Clark Ave, Long Beach California. A reception will follow at the home of Pam Bee at 820 Kallin Ave, Long Beach California.
A great soul serves everyone all the time. A great soul never dies. It brings us together again and again.
