Sandra Ann Clark, born on January 11, 1949, in Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025, in New Albany, Indiana. Sandra's life was characterized by compassion and dedication to others. She worked for many years as a nurse’s aide, exemplifying her caring nature by helping those in need. Later, she and her husband, Sonny, embarked on a fulfilling journey of entrepreneurship by starting a small cleaning business together.
Sandra was not just devoted to her work; she had a vibrant spirit and a love for life that extended into her hobbies and interests. She was an avid gardener, possessing a remarkable green thumb that allowed her to cultivate beautiful plants. Sandra also enjoyed crafts and had a fondness for playing Bingo, but above all, she cherished the time spent with her family. Her grandchildren were a particular joy to her, and she took immense pleasure in being a loving presence in their lives.
Sandra is survived by her son, Troy (Stacy) Clark; her daughter, Karen (Bill Luckett) Sanders; and her beloved grandchildren, Johnnie Sanders, Kara Sanders, Zachary Clark, and Madeline Clark. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren, Kade Lawler and Aubrie Bonilla. Among her surviving siblings are Butch Smith, Bobby (Helen) Atchley, Norma Wise, and Kitty Atchley. Additionally, she is remembered fondly by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Granville “Sonny” Clark; her daughter, Brenda Sue Clark; her father, Delmar Smith; mother, Edna Atchley; and her sister, Debra Wise, as well as her brother-in-law, Jim Wise.
Visitation for Sandra will take place at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Ln, New Albany, IN. The first visitation will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 4 PM to 8 PM, followed by a second visitation on Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 10 AM to 11 AM with funeral service will be the same day, Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 11 AM. Burial to follow at Beth Haven Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
Sandra Ann Clark leaves behind a legacy of love, care, and unwavering support for her family and friends. She will be deeply missed, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
