Sandra Driggers Obituary
McColl, SC
Sandra Bernice Rushing Driggers entered into her heavenly home on Friday, May 19, 2023, at her home in McColl, SC. She was 81 years old.
Born June 13, 1941, in Monroe, NC, Sandra was a daughter of the late Henry Matthew and Nancy Bernice Baker Rushing. She retired from the textile industry after employment with Talon for many years and later with Abbott Industries. She was a member of Berea United Methodist Church and the Ladies' Auxiliary. She prepared the sacraments for communion and assisted with Helping Hands, a community outreach program sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a volunteer with Meals on Wheels. Sandra enjoyed reading, decorating, and traveling. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Duane W. Driggers, of McColl, SC; son, Duane E Driggers (Cindy P.) of McColl, SC; sisters, Suzanne Rushing Brock (Earl) of Laurel Hill, NC, Nancy Walters (Boyd) of Laurel Hill, NC, and Lucinda Rushing of Matthews, NC; grandchildren, Amber Howard (Chris) and Morgan Barfield (Casey); great-grandchildren, Holden Brice Howard, Skyler Barfield, and Henley Barfield; brother-in-law, Mike Bullard of Laurinburg, NC; and many beloved nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Henrietta Bullard.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, May 21, 2023, at Berea United Methodist Church in McColl, SC. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, just prior to the service in the fellowship hall at the church.
The family wishes to acknowledge the outstanding care provided by her hospice team and requests that memorials be made to Scotland Regional Hospice, 610 Lauchwood Drive, Laurinburg, NC 28352.
