Sandra Engelhart Obituary
Sandra E. Engelhart (Hutchings), of Mantua, went to be with her Lord on August 11, 2024, following a long illness. Proceeded in Death by husband Harold, parents Walter and Helen Hutchings, brothers Ronald and Donald, sister Marilyn, brother-in-law Norm Klamut and son-in law James Higgs. She is survived by sister Marlene Klamut (North Carolina), sister-in-law Sue (Donald)Hutchings (Bainbridge), children Kimberly Cunningham (Brunswick), Lori Higgs (Chesapeake, VA), Dale (Andrea) Engelhart (Suffield), Dean (Jennifer) Engelhart (Shalersville) and grandchildren Steven, Timothy, Kathryn Cunningham, Brittany, Case Higgs, Craig Engelhart, Jordan (Kelly), Sydney, Brooke Engelhart and great grandchildren Lola Green, Garrette, Lauralee, Joel Engelhart. Sandy was born in Shalersville and lived in Mantua for most of her life. She retired from the U.S. Postal service as a clerk and rural mail carrier. In retirement, Sandy volunteered as an elementary school reading tutor for the Crestwood School District. Until her illness, Sandy was an active member of the Hilltop Christian Church, Mantua Rotary, Mantua Township Board of Zoning Appeals and many other community organizations. She took great pride in her participation with C.H.A.R.M's medical missions to the Dominican Republic and stateside missions with her church. She also served the youth of her community as a girl scout leader and as one of the founding advisors for the Mantua Science and Saddle 4-H club helping countless youth prepare and present their projects at the Portage County Fair. Funeral Services will be held at Hilltop Church 4572 W Prospect St, Mantua, OH 44255 on August 16, 2024 with visitation from 10-11am and service at 11 am, committal services will follow in Hillside Cemetery Mantua, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donation should be sent payable to Rotary Club of Mantua P.O. 354 Mantua, Ohio 44212, in memorial of Sandy Engelhart.
