Sandra Kay Engstrom

Sandra Kay Engstrom, 77, of Concord, NC, passed away Monday, January 27, 2025 at Atrium Health Cabarrus Hospital in Concord.

Sandy was born September 15, 1947 in Junction City, Kansas to the late Dale Delyle Farlow and the late Viola Farlow. She was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband, Terry Edward Engstrom, her radiant daughter, Tara Engstrom, and Hubble Engstrom, who was a dog. She is survived by her slightly less radiant son, Gus Engstrom of Concord, NC, and her granddaughter, Cameron Engstrom-Dunn, who gave Sandy’s life tremendous joy just by her presence.

Sandy was a woman of unbelievable kindness, patience, and generosity. She loved to read, travel the world, and discover exciting new restaurants wherever they may be. It is no understatement to say that the world is a good deal less caring in her absence.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be on Friday, February 7 at 9:00 am at St. James The Greater Catholic Church in Concord, NC. Burial will follow at the St. James The Greater Catholic Church Cemetery at 2323 Gold Hill Rd., Concord, NC.
